Using identical conductors for signal and return is a very easy was of improving the performance of an audio cable – something Chord been doing for many years. Very often what happens with XLR cables is that the two signal wires end up being used to carry the hot – in phase and the cold – out of phase signals and the earth/return connection is made with the shield. Chord added a third – identical to the other two – to carry the earth/return signal. It takes the shield out of the circuit and by doing so can seriously reduce unwanted interference. All Chord XLR analogue cables are built this way. Along with the extra conductor Chord also fit the Tuned ARAY conductor geometry developed for analogue cables, and the same protective black braiding that they fit to all the Signature cables and they terminated the cable with silver-plated Neutrik XLR plugs.

The Signature Tuned ARAY is musical both dynamically and in absolute detail, providing an upgrade to any system.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Signature conductor is built using high quality Silver-Plated conductors
  • Insulation is PTFE and the shielding consists of two layers of high-density silver-plated braid that is effective over a very wide frequency range
  • The shielding is covered with a white PTFE precision applied outer extrusion
  • Signature Tuned ARAY XLR cable is fitted with a high quality Neutrik XLR plug
